Akiko Kawayanagi originally designed accessories for a Japanese dress manufacturer before launching her own jewellery label in 2001. Named after the Greek island of Mykonos and inspired by the metalwork for which it is so well known, Kawayanagi uses a combination of brass and semi-precious stones to create a uniquely vintage look for her jewellery.

The Autumn Winter collection features clusters of opals mounted on to individual rings, pendants of roughly hewn quartz or miniature pearls with delicate leaves entwined around the misshapen casings, tiny opal drop earrings or pretty quartz studs.

Mykonos jewellery is exclusive to Couverture in the UK.
